Established in 2002, ZCCP is a not-for-profit, locally based multi-media communications organization, which uses the power of the mass media (radio, TV and print) and social mobilisation to reach the Zambian population and to affect social and behaviour change.
Overtime ZCCP has integrated other socio-health issues such as Gender-based violence and campaign to end child marriages in Zambia. Currently with support from the PEPFAR, USAID and DFID, ZCCP is implementing the Stamping Out and Preventing Gender-Based Violence (STOP GBV) Prevention and Advocacy (PA) project (a five year project 2013-2018) targeted at scaling up prevention and mitigation of Gender Based Violence (GBV) and the fight against child marriages in 29 selected districts of the seven (07) provinces of Zambia. The Goal of the project is to increase the prevention of and response to GBV in Zambia and the Objective is to decrease societal acceptance of GBV, enhance protective factors, and improve the enabling environment to respond to GBV.
In addition , under the Zambia Community HIV program, ZCCP is implementing Community HIV Programmes funded by PEPFAR and USAID through PACT in central province. While the Human rights and Governance Program is funded by GIZ is being implemented in Lusaka and Southern provinces.
ZCCP has also conducted successful communication campaigns and programmes in Zambia focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention, GBV, nutrition and health. The organisation works with both local and international partners in its work.
The vision of ZCCP describes the long-term outcomes in society that the organization is working towards and describes a desired future that it endeavours to contribute to through its interventions. ZCCP’s vision is:

For the strategic period between 2016 to 2020, ZCCP shall be guided by the following five (5) strategic Pillars in meeting is mission and vision.
The Kwatu brand was carried to an easily understood and recognizable brand to carry ZCCP products. The word ‘Kwatu’, is taken from a local language indigenous to the eastern part of the country but spoken countrywide. It’s dual meaning of ‘our home’ and ‘ear’ carries special resonance in that the products carried under this brand to listened to because they originate from the target audiences homes. Over time, Kwatu and become a trusted brand synonymous with quality information that addresses real needs.
The Executive Director (ED) for ZCCP is responsible for all the activities including administration. The director is supported by technical and financial staff in the day to day duties. The ED is provides overall oversight and leadership to the organization and directs implementation of work as delegated by the Board.
